Start by telling yourself “I will not react; I will respond!” Practice and repeat as many times as necessary and get comfortable and familiar in saying this to yourself. Reacting to our anxiety and many other things in life can throw us into the fight or flight mode and cause us to be irrational and illogical. Reacting to anxiety causes us to lose control and panic. Of course, we need our inherent and sophisticated natural born instinct that is our fight or flight  mode but unless we are about to get hit in the head with an object falling out of the sky or a car accident we don’t need it under most circumstances.
